Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar on Wednesday, November 13, to lay the foundation stone for the much-awaited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in Darbhanga district. This landmark project is expected to significantly enhance healthcare infrastructure in the state, especially in the northern regions.
Bihar’s Health Minister, Mangal Pandey, confirmed the visit on Sunday, stating that the Prime Minister will participate in a ‘bhumi pujan’ (groundbreaking ceremony) for the AIIMS super-specialty hospital. The event will be held in the presence of prominent leaders, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, along with other dignitaries.
The establishment of AIIMS Darbhanga, one of several such projects under the central government’s initiative to expand healthcare access, is expected to improve medical education, research, and treatment facilities in the state. The state government has expressed confidence that the hospital will help address the growing healthcare needs of Bihar, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
The AIIMS project in Darbhanga is a significant step towards improving medical infrastructure and will serve as a major healthcare hub for patients from across the region.
