Jamnagar, March 4, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Vantara, a world-class animal rescue, conservation, and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Spread across 3,000 acres, this facility, established by Reliance Industries in collaboration with the Reliance Foundation, represents India’s deep commitment to wildlife preservation and animal welfare.
A Visionary Project by Anant Ambani
Vantara, meaning “Star of the Forest,” is the brainchild of Anant Ambani, Director at Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation. The center is dedicated to the rescue, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of animals, currently housing over 2,000 animals across 43 species.
To ensure world-class healthcare for rescued animals, the facility includes a 100,000-square-foot hospital equipped with ICU, MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy units—making it one of the most advanced veterinary centers globally.
A Mission of Compassion and Conservation
Anant Ambani’s passion for animal welfare extends beyond Vantara. Under his leadership, the initiative has successfully rescued over 200 elephants and thousands of other animals, including rhinos, leopards, crocodiles, reptiles, and birds from unsafe conditions.
